In Fresno, Ca civil rights leader Rev. Dr. Floyd D. Harris, Jr. and the community have protested and made their voices heard about the unjust treatment of Black males and police brutality within the Fresno community, that include rally's, marches.  Harris said any one of those men could have been my son, and that is just unacceptable," proclaimed Rev. Dr. Floyd D. Harris, Jr., Assistant Pastor of New Light for New Life Church of God and the International President of the National Network in Action a civil and human rights organization. "What America has to understand is that when laws were made hundreds of years ago, they were designed for White people and against Blacks. It is now time to change these policies and make racists' accountable for their unjust ways. I have protested with Black and Brown (Hispanic) people because both races have come under extreme social misconduct from the police in our system in the past and today. Rodney King, Trayvon Martin and host of other Black males were brutalized and/or murdered by police officers and even with eye witnesses, they were still treated unjustly."

Harris has setup many protests throughout the City of Fresno within the last couple of months demanding justice for all. His justice corner, at Fresno St. and C St., is the place where he organizes the community to come together and speak out on various issues. On Sunday, December 14, 2014, Harris, along with the Brown Berets and MAPA, held a protest where his supporters were asked to lay down on the ground in the middle of the intersection to protest equal rights and social justice for everyone. Harris proclaims that "Blacks have been discriminated against for over 400 years trying to survive in a white society, and even though we have made significant progress in regards to social awareness and equality, it's just not enough. Even if we have to start recalling our leaders that are in position to make change, then that is what we must do to continue to fight for progress. Our lives do matter."

Harris stated that he is part Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and part Malcolm X. "I will fight for social justice and equality peacefully and by any means necessary. I will always fight for the truth and stand on the truth. Our residents must understand that they are taxpayers and that law enforcement has an obligation to respect and uphold human rights in our community."

Harris also noted that there has been at least 80 individuals that have been murdered by the police since Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer has been in office, over 170 police officers that have been involved in shootings in general and 37 police officers who are repeat offenders of firing a weapon. Eight of those police officers have been involved in three or more shootings and one officer, in particular, has shot a total of six people. "Our tax dollars are being spent on civil rights settlements and court costs and it puts a burden on our community. I, along with my allies, are prepared to inform and more importantly warn the residents of Fresno that their lives and the lives of their sons matter, but are in danger."

Harris and the NNIA is a member of the Fresno Coalition Against Police Brutality. Other organizations of the FCAPB are the Fresno Brown Berets, California Prison Moratorium Project, Real Talk #1 Drs, New Light For New Life Church Of God, Dr. Harris Keeping It Real Tv Show, Fresno Immigrant Youth in Action and CopBlockFresno. Their mission is to end police repression and the criminalization of a generation seeking justice for all victims of police violence.

He also founded and participates in Blogtalkradio Realtalk #1 Drs. with Dr. Jean Kennedy, discussing community and human rights issues.

Harris and  the  Fresno Coalition Against Police Brutality held a rally  and marches for justice on behalf of Black and Brown males on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Kings Canyon Blvd. and Chestnut Ave. He will also hosting future rally's, marches and other demonstrations throughout the city in the upcoming months as well as traveling to other cities to help demonstrate in alliance with residents who are fighting for basic human rights.
